    • Let's take inventory. Your Scramrod includes:

    • Handle segment and end segment

    • Five middle segments

    • Case, either MOLLE or belt-mounted. This guide uses a belt-mounted case, but the instructions are the same for MOLLE.

    • Toggle and endcaps

    • 12" shock cord

    • 24" shock cord

    • If you'd like to install the endcaps for a tidier appearance, you'll also need some glue like Zap-a-Gap or E-6000. Gorilla Glue won't work.

  2. Thread the 24" cord through the handle. Tie a single knot as close to the end as possible, and pull it tight. Tuck the free end of the knot into the handle and pull the entire knot into the handle.

    • Don't pull too hard - you can break the handle. You may want to use a screwdriver or something to gently press it in.

    • Thread the five rod segments onto the cord. All five have spikes on both ends.

  3. Pull the cord nice and tight. Pinch and hold the cord where it leaves the rod segment. Thread the end segment onto the cord. Note that the cord should poke out of the blunt end, not the spiky end.

  4. Tuck the exposed ends of the cord into the segments. Gently push the knots in with a screwdriver or something. If desired, glue the endcaps over the exposed ends, and allow the glue to dry. These aren't necessary, but they look neat. Fold the Scramrod up and nest the segments into the handle.

  5. Thread the toggle onto the 12" shock cord. Thread each end of the shock cord through the holes in the handle. Note the orientation! Tie the exposed ends in a loose square knot. Don't tighten it yet!
